Wacheno Welcome Center wins ACUI National Facility Design Award
We are honored to announce the Wacheno Welcome Center at Clackamas Community College is an ACUI National 2023 Facility Design Award winner. The Wacheno Welcome Center was judged as the best project in the Student Union Projects Under $25 Million category of the 2023 Facility Design Awards. The Facility Design Award Jurors described the project as “wonderfully reimagined,” “welcoming and inviting,” and “connected to the campus community.”
The Wacheno Welcome Center provides an integrated approach to services with the “One Place” offering a single destination from which each student can navigate their path to success. The Center creates a welcoming front door to the campus and an inviting environment for students and support staff to connect. The “One Place” model promotes ease of access, academic support and career pathways, while removing physical and psychological barriers. Directly connected to a refreshed Community Center, the combined resources invite engagement while seamlessly linking to the campus fabric.
