Opsis is honored to announce Hidden Creek Community Center, The Pavilion and Western Washington University’s Multicultural Center have received top honors by regional and international awards programs in 2021.
Hidden Creek Community Center in Hillsboro, Oregon and The Pavilion in Bend, Oregon were selected out of 86 recreation and sport facilities from across the globe by the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) as winners of the Innovative and Sustainable Sports and Leisure Facilities at the 2021 IOC IAKS Awards Ceremony in Cologne, Germany. As recreational hubs, both facilities were designed to reflect the unique qualities of their sites and communities, while offering destinations to promote health and well-being.
Opsis’ design of the Multicultural Center addition and renovation at Western Washington University received a 2021 AIA Northwest & Pacific Honor Award in the Institutional Category and a 2021 AIA Oregon Merit Award. The Multicultural Center (MCC) is a transformational project, providing a prominent home for the Western Washington University Ethnic Student Center (ESC) and the 19 clubs the ESC hosts, Student Advocacy and Identity Resource Centers, and programs of the Multicultural Services office.
