Opsis is honored to announce that the Redmond Senior & Community Center was recognized with a Merit Award by the 2025 AIA Washington Council at the annual Civic Design Awards. The AIA Washington Council’s Civic Design Awards program recognizes projects that “reflect the highest standards in sustainability, innovation, building performance and overall integration with the client and surrounding communities.”
A new civic centerpiece, the Redmond Senior & Community Center aims to enhance the well-being and quality of life for residents. Located on the site of the former senior center along the Sammamish River Trail, the new multigenerational facility offers cultural arts, recreation and community-centered programming for all ages and a dedicated space for Redmond’s seniors. Pursuing LEED Platinum certification, the center features mass plywood panels that earned the first-ever LEED innovation point from the U.S. Green Building Council for climate-resilient wood.
Congratulations to the City of Redmond, our entire project team and everyone involved in bringing this incredible resource to the Redmond community!
