Daniel Houghton

Daniel’s passion for Architecture is rooted in the structure of civilization and the way places we inhabit can be analyzed, nurtured and reimagined to create a built environment which transcends normal conceptions. His education has exposed him to various ways of thinking, designing and representing architecture, objects and information. A relationship with material and craft has been a corner stone of his academic and professional career.

During his academic career, Daniel explored the design, prototyping and fabrication of numerous furniture scale pieces. Upon graduation, he worked with crafts people and was exposed to the materials, fabrication and construction process. These experiences helped him understand the human scale of design and an appreciation for thoughtful details.

While pursuing a Master of Architecture from the University of South Florida School of Architecture and Community Design, Daniel participated in a six-week immersion program at the at University of Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in Slovenia and a summerLab at The Bartlett Development Planning Unit in London.
