The Shiley Hall Tenant Improvement project involved the backfill of 5,800 sf of program space within the University of Portland’s School of Engineering, following the relocation of several programs to the new Shiley-Marcos Center for Design & Innovation.
Size: 5,800 sf
Location: Portland, OR
Opsis worked closely with the School to design labs that meet the evolving needs of their engineering programs, maximizing connection to natural light and connection between programs. The enlarged Environmental Lab now includes four fume hoods and a flexible design to support both teaching and research.
A new Concrete Lab, featuring separate areas for curing and a sieve shaker, takes advantage of the first-floor location with access through a large overhead door to support civil engineering work. The Geotechnical Lab and Materials Testing Lab were also developed.
