BIM Manager

Opsis is looking for a BIM Manager to lead the firm’s digital design strategy, providing technical expertise, training, and support to staff and project teams. This role involves managing BIM standards, optimizing workflows, and ensuring best practices are developed and followed to improve efficiency, accuracy, and innovation in design and documentation. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with deep expertise in Autodesk Revit, BIM-related tools, and emerging digital and A.I. technologies, and a passion for innovation and driving BIM excellence in a dynamic architectural practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain firm-wide BIM standards, templates and workflows
  • Provide technical support and training to architects, designers and project teams
  • Foster best practices and technological adoption
  • Oversee BIM execution plans (BEPs) and ensure compliance with project and industry requirements
  • Research and integrate new BIM technologies, automation processes and AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency
  • Develop and maintain documentation on BIM best practices and training materials
  • Support BIM coordination meetings as needed with design team, consultants and contractors
  • Support Revit model setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and interoperability across platforms
  • Collaborate with project teams to enhance 3D modeling, visualization and clash detection capabilities
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, software updates and emerging technologies
  • Oversee set up and maintenance of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) hosted models and project teams, including external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain custom Revit add-ins and automation tools using Python
  • Ensure proper file management, data exchange protocols and interoperability between software platforms
  • Support reality-capture workflows, including laser scanning and photogrammetry, into BIM processes
  • Provide Microsoft Teams and SharePoint maintenance and support
  • Support design teams in transition from design modeling to construction modeling with understanding of virtual construction workflows, design modelling best practices for construction model implementation and comprehension of BIM coordination approaches

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Passion for digital design, innovation and driving BIM excellence in a dynamic architectural practice
  • Bachelor of Architecture degree preferred
  • Experience working in an architecture design studio environment
  • Strong knowledge of architectural construction documentation, detailing and building systems
  • Expertise in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and other BIM-related software
  • Advanced Experience with computational, parametric modeling and algorithm-driven design, particularly in Rhino + Grasshopper or similar tools
  • Experience with BIM API Development – Proficiency in developing custom scripts and tools using Python, C#, or Dynamo for automation and efficiency
  • Fluency with Revit Add-in software including Ideate Suite, pyRevit, Enscape and Rhino Inside Revit
  • Fluency with MS Teams and Sharepoint file sharing system
  • Experience with Deltek business management software
  • Familiarity with sustainability analysis tools and workflows, including plug-ins and exports from Revit (e.g., Cove.tool, Climate Studio, Tally, or similar), with the ability to support integration and provide technical oversight to project teams
  • Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools such as BIM 360, ACC and similar platforms
  • Knowledge of emerging AI applications in BIM such as automated clash detection, generative design and predictive design
  • Understanding of industry standards such as ISO 19650, AIA BIM protocols and LOD (Level of Development) frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead firm-wide BIM implementation strategies and multi-office coordination
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop long-term BIM Implementation Strategies for BIM adoption and integration into firmwide processes
  • Strong understanding of BIM requirements for large-scale projects, including coordination with MEP, structural and civil teams

Soft Skills

  • Strong social and communication skills to support staff and drive technological innovation and change
  • Ability to comfortably engage clients, consultants and external partners to align BIM workflows, deliverables and expectations
