Senior Project Manager

Opsis is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team. 

This individual will partner closely with Principals to guide and strengthen project teams across a range of complex work. The ideal candidate brings a refined design sensibility together with the judgment, leadership presence, and strategic perspective required to steer large or multifaceted projects successfully. 

In this role, the Senior Project Manager acts as a primary ambassador for Opsis—from early pursuits and client alignment through final delivery. They are responsible for shaping project strategy, maintaining financial and schedule performance, structuring teams for success, and mentoring emerging leaders. This role requires fluency in budgeting, staffing, long-range planning, and risk management, paired with a consistent commitment to exceptional client service. 

Key skill sets and abilities

  • Proven success in architectural project management, including direct client and contractor collaboration in both CM/GC and Progressive Design Build environments 
  • Ability to lead project teams, communicating expectations and ideas clearly, and the organizational skill set to manage project scope, budget, and timelines effectively 
  • Ability to effectively present to clients, facilitate and guide project discussions and decisions, and manage communication across internal and external teams 
  • A passion for fostering a collaborative and thoughtful design process, with an understanding of the value and power of collaborative design 
  • Ability and desire to lead complex, public projects with independence 
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects of various scales with overlapping deadlines and communicate project objectives
  • Ability to develop and negotiate fees 
  • Experience with Business Development and project pursuits including proposal writing and interviews 
  • Provide Mentorship to Project Managers, Project Architects, and Emerging Professionals 
  • Helps develop office standards and repeatable systems

Requirements include

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture
  • Proficiency in the software and technologies that support architects to excel
  • 10+ years’ experience in a professional architectural practice
  • 3+ years as an architectural Project Manager 
  • Architectural License

Preferred attributes

  • Experience or specialization in community recreation, sports and athletics, higher education, K-12 education, student housing, and performing arts
  • DBIA accreditation and Progressive Design Build experience
  • LEED Accreditation or a strong interest in sustainable design
  • A fundamental commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and the power and potential of architecture to be a catalyst in the creation of a more open, empathetic, and regenerative society
